DIY Halloween Costume - Owl

I have for you mini tutorial how DIY Halloween Costume Owl. In our country we don´t celebrate Halloween, but we have Carnival during February. So this mask I did for my daughter on this event. Idea for this mask I found on Pinterest, but I didn´t find the exact instructions on the wings. So I hope that this tutorial will be usefull ;)

I used: 3x fleece blanket, scissors, Needle and thread, hot glue, swimwear elastic, Velcro, some glitters, long sleeve t-shirt and sewing machine

I bought fleece blanket each for 2,99€, blanket are in three color in shades of gray, but if you like you can choice different color, maybe brown will be for owl great too.

For the first I did the base for wings.
1. Put a blanket duplicate
2.the size optimize with lenght of sleeves
3.sew on a sewing machine - look on picture
4. cut off unnecessary parts of blanket
5. at last sew on velcro and swimwear elastic

Then I prepared feathers:
for T-shirt
1. cut feathers for t-shirt (I used 67 pieces)
2. in each feather -for t-shirt  sew small seam for puffy look
3. with hot glue to stick each feather,
we start from the bottom t-shirts

for the Wings
1. cut feathers for wings (I used almost 170 pieces)
2. with hot glue to stick each feather,
we start from the bottom

For mask just look on photo for inspi, it is only for your creativity ;)

If you like this tutorial or have questions, you can leave me a comment. Have fun ;)

Hope you enjoy my Halloween Special. Now I am working on some new stuff for next week, stay tuned because it will be great, YAY !

  8. I love to dress up for Halloween and I am a school bus driver. I transport mentally and/or physically challenged passengers so I have to be careful of costumes I wear. I must be able to see unobstructed by the mask and it shouldn't scare or intimidate the passengers. I believe that this one will be my costume for Halloween 2016. I also live in Nebraska so it should also keep me warm on the bus in late October. Thank you.
